Here's the video for Take Back The Instant - first single off the new General Elektriks album. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this happen - Greg, Terri Timely, Raf, everyone at Nightshift, and espectially Nico Chambon who acted as art director and co-animator.
I spent a good part of january animating chocolate sticks, or rather watching Eric animate them. We made 11 spots - here's 4 of them : Infrared, Dodgy Ringtone, Post-It, Video Van Man.
I lost a job this month to a guy called Salier, which means Salters in french. Is that weird? I'm afraid to meet him coz I feel like it might lead to an existential crisis. What if he's my mirror image?

| LA FIN DE LA YEAR

| Just wrapped Mini-cheddars after a long Paris studio shoot, which did NOT include a sighting of Grace Jones despite the fact that she was in the studio next to us part of the time. It did however include an in-house studio chef who claims his food tastes "like when a young lady takes off her bra for you". Anyway, the shoot went well and i'm très happy with the spots but won't be able to show them until early 2009. Just booked a cool job with JWT London for Matchmakers. Shooting first thing in January. | The staff of Shots are definitely getting a xmas card from me this year. After publishing my new year's resolutions, they just printed this article which gave me a blushing sunburn. My brother is releasing a series of tracks with MC collaborations as free downloads on his website. A new track every month, leading up to the release of the 2nd General Elektriks album. | I'm shooting a cool french spot for Leclerc in august with NosePH. Looking forward to it. The good people of Youtube featured MOTUS last month, and it got over 180,000 hits as a result... prompting a healthy number of elaborate anti-french comments. (and some nice ones too). | MOTUS is playing at this year's LA Film Festival in June, which is très cool considering the full music video line-up. I've been working on getting my first proper short film together. | BACK FROM THE COLD

| I'm back from 3 weeks of prep/shoot in Canada. Both shoots went really well , although the sensation of stepping out of your hotel and having your nostrils and eyebrows immediately freeze was distracting. I'll be posting the Shaw spots within a week, and then the Golden Dogs video will follow. Got a couple of things in the oven for next month. (Jan. 2007) |
